Wendy's Wish - Archers Need Your Help

Many of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another.

We’ve teamed up with local charity Wendy’s Wish to help our customers declutter while raising much-needed funds for research and support. Here at Archers, we are grateful to have known Northallerton woman, Wendy Reed who was sadly taken too soon. We are keen to support her remarkable family’s charity, Wendy’s Wish.

And we need your help.

What is Wendy’s Wish?

Wendy’s Wish (Registered Charity 1175368) is a family-run charity established in memory of local woman Wendy Reed, who passed away on January 6, 2017, five years after being diagnosed with ocular melanoma (a type of eye cancer). Wendy’s family created this charity to raise funds for the Eye Tumour Research Fund, to support cancer patients and their families, and increase awareness of all forms of eye cancer.

Here at Archers, we are fortunate as an established business in the Northallerton area to be able to give back to the community that has supported us for so many years.

Declutter and Support Wendy’s Wish

If you’re moving or downsizing and need to declutter, consider donating rather than discarding the items listed below. Wendy’s Wish, our chosen charity, supports cancer patients and their families and would greatly appreciate your contributions.

To donate:

1) Simply box or bag your items. You can drop them off at our offices on Springwell Lane, or we can arrange to collect them from you.

2) Donations are then sorted and passed to Wendy’s Wish. Funds raised go directly to the charity.

That’s it!

Items We Can Accept

Unfortunately we are unable to accept soft toys.

We’re All in This Together

“We’re all in this together” is Wendy’s family motto. And we are. Cancer doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t care how old you are or where you live. Any of us and any of our loved ones can be affected. Cancer has an impact on everyone and therefore we all must work together to kick it to the curb.

Ocular melanoma is a rarely diagnosed cancer. For this reason, it doesn’t get the attention and often the funding that it deserves.

Your donations make a real, practical difference.

Thank you!

Geoff Archer, the Archers team and Wendy’s Wish.
